Laha, Shondipon and Chohan, Ambreen and Liebermann, Ilhan and Leinhardt, James Conscious Patient Proning Guide. [DataSet]
Description
National COVID-19 treatment guidance recommends the use of prone positioning (lying on your front) to improve oxygenation in patients. This redistributes lung expansion and allows blood flow to be more closely matched with ventilation. In combination with non-invasive respiratory support (CPAP of High Flow Nasal cannulae) it can improve the chances of avoiding intubation which is associated with much higher levels of mortality. This guidance covers how to self prone at home and how to use the clinical Conscious Proning Pack (PostureCare, UK).
