Description

Data of functional properties and subjective measurements collected between 2019 and 2022 at equestrian eventing competitions, primarily in the UK. An example spreadsheet used to analyze the data is also available. A total of 98 cross-country event courses were tested between 2019-2022. These included 15 British Eventing intermediate courses, 4 British Eventing advanced courses, 13 British Eventing novice courses, 16 British Eventing 100 courses, 3 British Eventing 90 courses, 1 British Eventing 80 course, 3 FEI 5* long courses, 7 FEI 4* long & 7 FEI 4* short courses, 6 FEI 3* long & 3 FEI 3* short courses, 1 FEI 2* short course, 16 Unaffiliated 100 courses, 2 Unaffiliated 90 courses and 1 training course.

Measurements from simple tools were compared to the gold standard equipment used to test equine showjumping competition surfaces (Orono Biomechanical Surface Tester).
