This quantitative data was downloaded from the Nature 2019 PhD Survey. The survey was a large-scale study including students from six continents (https://www.shift-learning.co.uk/).  Written permission to download the data set and perform a second analysis was requested and obtained on July 8th, 2022. The downloaded data was completely anonymised and stripped of any identifiable references to the participants
